Leading Across Generations
Can your leaders leverage the differences between generations? For the first time in history, there are four distinct generations in the workforce: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millennials … all with their own perspectives, styles, and expectations. These differences often create misunderstandings, stereotypes, and conflicts; but what worked in the past with three generations no longer works with four. Leaders know they need to get their teams past the stereotyping and through the conflicts so they can keep the focus on the work, but they don’t know how.
What if leaders could go beyond simply eliminating conflict, and actually leverage the differences between generations?
Inspiring Trust
For organizations whose competitive edge depends on speed to market and worker productivity, the hidden costs of low-trust work environments can rob them of their competitive advantage and credibility. Low trust issues like bureaucracy, politics, redundancy, and high turnover rates can negate speed-to market advantages and bring productivity to a screeching halt. Leaders learn that trust begins with them. They leave with a renewed commitment to become more credible and to extend trust to others. They’ll learn to do the real work of identifying and closing the trust gaps that exist in their organizations.
The 5 Choices
With today’s increasing demands, both personally and professionally, we can all work on ways to improve our productivity. You will align your daily and weekly tasks with the most important goals. You will move from being buried alive to extraordinary productivity!
